What’s big, bold and beautiful and will only happen once in your lifetime?
It could only be the historic Aurora Centennial Celebration, scheduled for the week of July 1-6, 2003! You’ll want to make plans early to attend the Centennial festivities — there is lots of fun planned, with activities and events for your entire family to enjoy. Bring the kids, the grandparents, even the dog, and come celebrate with us! Please spread the word to your friends and family members — although the Aurora Centennial Committee has been working hard to find all Aurora/Hoyt Lakes and Mesabi East graduates, and both past and current residents, we know we’ve missed some of you, due to address or name changes, etc.
Scheduled throughout the fun-filled week, you’ll find activities like class reunions and self-guided tours of our local attractions, including Aurora’s Historical Photo display at City Hall and a Historical American Flag Display at Centennial Park, courtesy of Freedom Fête Music Festival organizers. You’ll want to check out our local bars and restaurants, as well as Food Alley (downtown local food vendors), the Freedom Fête™ Music Festival, and the Centennial Park Beer Garden (open noon to midnight, Thursday through Saturday). Take a walk through town, visit the local businesses, and catch up on all the latest news. Make your plans early to attend this once in a lifetime experience, then stay tuned to your local radio stations, watch the papers, and check this website frequently for periodic updates. Visit with old and new friends at the Aurora Centennial Celebration, and take home a lifetime of memories!
