Children’s Parade
Friday, July 4 • 12 Noon
Main Street

Line up at 11 AM on North Main Street. All participants must be under
15 years old (with the exception of the float categories). Prizes awarded.
Patriotic & Non-Patriotic Categories: decorated tricycle, doll buggy, wagon
or Big Wheels; and best patriotic single or group costumes. No animals of
any kind allowed in parade, and must be removed from area. Entries which
do not “fit” the group cannot be judged in that group. Patriotic and
Centennial (historic) float categories. Prizes: 1st - $100; 2nd - $75; 3rd - $50;
4th - $25.  Float winners eligible for only one prize, in one parade, and one category.


Centennial Parade
Saturday, July 5 • 5 PM
West 3rd Ave., Main Street

This parade is shaping up to be the largest parade in Aurora’s 100-year
history! Many marching bands, floats and entries. We are still looking for
Aurora, A-HL or Mesabi East Alumni interested in participating in the
Alumni Marching Band or Choir during this parade (forms available
online). 3:30 PM lineup. Parade starts this year on Third Avenue by the
Duluth  Clinic-Aurora, takes a left at Lucky Seven General Store, proceeds
past the entire school, and circles around the final corner by Lake St. James
to take in the entire Main Street.

Centennial Float Prizes
We’ve sweetened the pot this year with some excellent float prizes, so put on
your thinking caps and plan YOUR float now! Prizes as follows: $1,000 for Governor’s Trophy (Best of Show); $750 for Best Centennial (Historic) Float;
750 for Best Patriotic Float; $500 each for the categories of Best Humerous,
Best Family, Best Club/Organization, and Best Commercial floats. Entrants
n this parade must be 16 years or older. Float winners eligible for only one
prize, in one parade, and one category. For additional details about the
